USA: The U.S. government may impose duties on any order valued at approximately $800 USD or more. However, we encourage you to check with U.S. Customs and Border Protection as information is subject to change.

U.S. Customs Duties and Taxes (Effective May 2, 2025)

As of May 2, 2025, the U.S. government has announced new regulations affecting imports from China. Previously, shipments under $800 USD were exempt from customs duties and taxes. However, starting from May 2, 2025, all shipments from China, regardless of the value, will be subject to applicable duties and taxes. This means that:

1. For Orders Valued Over $800 USD: Your order will be subject to U.S. customs duties and taxes. These charges are determined by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and will be the responsibility of the customer.
2. For Orders Valued Under $800 USD: While this order will still incur customs fees, there will no longer be an automatic exemption, and customs duties or taxes may apply depending on the order's value.

We recommend checking with your local customs office to better understand any potential charges before placing your order.

Canada: All orders valued at $20 CAD (approximately $15 USD) may be subject to duties and handling fees if the package is inspected at customs. Canada Post randomly inspects packages.For more information, visit the CBSA website here.

Europe: Orders over €150 may be subject to customs duties and handling charges upon inspection at customs, as this is the threshold at which import duties generally apply across the EU; this means that packages under this value are generally exempt from customs duties.

Australia: Goods valued over AUD1000. There is a processing fee for completing an import declaration. You will also be responsible for paying duties and taxes on your goods.

How do I qualify for free shipping?

- **International Orders:** Enjoy **free shipping** on all orders over **$89**. 
- **Small Orders:** Shipping fees are calculated based on order size and weight.

Tracking Your Order

Once your order has shipped, you will receive a tracking number via email. You can track your package through the carrier’s website for real-time updates on your shipment’s status.

Shipping Address Accuracy

Please ensure your shipping address is correct to avoid delays. Direct Source Yarn cannot be held responsible for lost or delayed packages due to incorrect or incomplete addresses.

What Additional Fees Can I Expect When Ordering Internationally?

Please note that the cost of international shipping does not include any additional taxes or fees (from customs or the shipping carrier). These additional costs vary and are determined by the import laws within each country. The fees are typically calculated based on the size of the order. To ascertain the applicable costs, it is advisable to research your country's import laws or consult with the shipping carrier. We regret to inform you that Direct Source Yarn is unable to calculate, control, determine, or estimate VAT costs or fees on your behalf. We are unable to control the cost of the shipping and handling fees that you are responsible for paying.

In the event that you choose to refuse shipment, we will be forced to abandon the order at customs. This is due to the fact that the cost of return shipping is approximately 2.5-3x the original shipping cost. As a result, we will lose the entire order to customs, as we are unable to cover the cost of having it returned to us. Consequently, in the event of a refusal to pay customs fees, you will forfeit the entire order and will not be eligible to receive a refund on your order or shipping fees.
