Ordering

To check your order status, sign into your Direct Source Yarn account and visit the account page. All orders made using your email address should appear on this page, along with order number, date of order, and order status.

Processing Time

Please note that the delivery time estimates provided by DSY reflect the time it takes to arrive after it is shipped from our warehouse. The estimates do not take into account internal order processing time, which is always subject to increase during high volume sales. Please also note that we are unable to provide estimated delivery dates. These dates are determined by the carrier.

For international orders, please allow up to 3-4 weeks for delivery. If you are experiencing problems with your tracking number, we recommend using a universal tracking site to verify that the tracking number is working properly and that there has been movement in the shipment. Please note that for international orders, there may be periods of time without tracking updates as the package is transferred between carriers while in transit to its next destination.

Out of Stock Items

Please note that if you purchase an item that is out of stock, your entire order will be held until we restock the item. If you would like to receive the in-stock items and wait for the out-of-stock items, please contact Customer Service (hello@directsourceyarn.com) and request a split shipment.

Please be advised that orders in our system cannot be edited. Should you wish to modify the contents of your order, you will be required to cancel it and place a new order for the desired items. Please be advised that orders for crochet patterns are non-refundable.

Should you wish to cancel an order that you have recently placed, please contact our Customer Service team at hello@directsourceyarn.com. Please note that orders for crochet patterns are non-cancelable.

We will do our utmost to accommodate your cancellation, but due to the varying stages of processing at which your order may be, we cannot guarantee this will be possible. In this instance, you may return the item to us for a full refund of the purchase price.

Orders may typically be cancelled within a 30-minute window of placement. If the requisite time has elapsed, we will likely be unable to cancel the order. Please be advised that even if the order has been placed within 30 minutes, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to cancel it. Once an order has been shipped, it cannot be cancelled. Please wait for the order to arrive and then return it if you change your mind.

 Please be advised that orders for crochet patterns are non-refundable.

We offer our customers the option to return products within fourteen (14) days of the delivery date, with the exception of certain products that may not be returnable (e.g., final sale products). All returned products must be unused and suitable for resale. Please note that you are responsible for the cost of shipping the returned product. Any products not returned in accordance with the established return procedures may be donated or destroyed, and no refund will be issued.

To return products, please follow these steps:

At the post office, we recommend that you request a tracking number.

Our warehouse will automatically process a refund to your original payment method upon receipt of your returned order. The amount of your refund is determined solely by the products you are returning, and does not include shipping and handling charges.

Once you’ve purchased a crochet pattern, just sign into your Direct Source Yarn account and visit the My Account page. All your orders made using your email address should be there. Click on the “Downloads” section for the pattern you paid for. If you have any problems with downloading the pattern PDF, please don’t hesitate to contact our Customer Service team at hello@directsourceyarn.com.

A dye lot is the batch the yarn was dyed in. All of the yarn in one batch will be the exact same color and will have the same dye lot number on the label. Yarn from a different batch may vary in color. The colors of two different dye lots may look the same under certain lights and VERY different under other lights or in daylight.

Unfortunately, we are not able to match dye lots. Yarn is packed in cartons by dye lot and shipped to stores across the country – before long, that dye lot will be sold out. For this reason, we recommend purchasing whatever you need of a dye lot at one time.

To use a discount code or coupon, simply enter it in the “Click here to enter your coupon code“ field at the checkout page. Click ‘Apply’ and your total will be adjusted.

Our warehouse will always do its best to provide matching lot numbers within an order. If you receive 2 different lots in the same order and the difference is noticeable, please contact us with photos and we will find a solution for you.

If you have run out of yarn and need to order more, unfortunately we cannot accept requests for specific dye lots. we recommend purchasing whatever you need of a dye lot at one time.

No, we are not able to add items to your order as we cannot withdraw more from your payment account than you have authorized.

Unfortunately, we are unable to change shipping addresses.

No, unfortunately we do not offer price drop protection/price adjustments. Your invoice will be for the amount you authorized when you confirmed your order. Please see our Terms and Conditions for details.

All DSY patterns are written in US terms unless otherwise stated.

Even with today’s state-of-the-art milling techniques, knots in yarn cannot be completely avoided. The industry standard is up to three knots in a 1.75 oz/50 g ball of yarn, although most skeins will have less than three or zero!

If you have more than that, please contact us with pictures and we will be happy to find a solution for you!

All photos on our website are taken in a professional photo studio. Our talented photographer does her best to accurately portray the colors and texture of the product.

Please keep in mind that colors may vary from screen to screen, and shade may vary from lot number to lot number.

You may use items created from patterns for your personal use only, but you may not sell or use such items for commercial purposes of any kind without express permission. Please contact us for permission. You also may not sell our patterns; they are copyrighted.

No, DSY Design patterns may not be redistributed, whether you charge for them or not. We hope you love the patterns, but please share a link to our website so others can purchase the patterns directly from us.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer every pattern in every size. Each new size requires a significant amount of work to modify and test the design, and certain patterns do not translate well to larger or smaller sizes. Going forward, you can generally expect adult items to be available in sizes from XS to 2X, but we cannot remake older patterns that do not meet this sizing guideline.

Knitting and crocheting use stitches of different sizes and shapes.

You can’t “convert” a pattern from one to the other. Each pattern must be completely redesigned, and even then it’s not always possible.

We source our yarns directly from mega factories in China, cutting out middlemen to offer competitive prices.

Absolutely! Our yarns come from the same OEM factories trusted by brands across the U.S. and Europe. Such as Walmart, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Scheepjes, Rossmann, Yarnspirations, Red Heart, Bernat and Lion Brand Yarns.

The lower price reflects direct sourcing, not compromised quality. The yarns are produced by the mega factories who OEM for Scheepjes,  Yarnspirations, Red Heart, Bernat and Lion Brand Yarns etc.

You get the same quality yarn at a lower price, plus the convenience of online shopping.

Shipping

International shipping costs vary by location and service type. The exact shipping cost will be displayed on the checkout page. Please note that additional fees may apply, such as customs, duties & taxes (including GST/HST/VAT), etc.

– **USA & Canada:** Enjoy **free shipping** on all orders over **$99**. 

– **International Orders:** Maximum shipping cost is capped at **$29**. 

– **Small Orders:** Shipping fees are calculated based on order size and weight. 

We aim to provide affordable and reliable shipping worldwide. For specific rates and delivery times, your shipping cost will be shown at checkout. Start crafting with confidence—no surprises at the door!

Please note that the cost of international shipping does not include any additional taxes or fees (from customs or the shipping carrier). These additional costs vary and are determined by the import laws within each country. The fees are typically calculated based on the size of the order. To ascertain the applicable costs, it is advisable to research your country’s import laws or consult with the shipping carrier. We regret to inform you that Direct Source Yarn is unable to calculate, control, determine, or estimate VAT costs or fees on your behalf. We are unable to control the cost of the shipping and handling fees that you are responsible for paying.

 In the event that you choose to refuse shipment, we will be forced to abandon the order at customs. This is due to the fact that the cost of return shipping is approximately 2.5-3x the original shipping cost. As a result, we will lose the entire order to customs, as we are unable to cover the cost of having it returned to us. Consequently, in the event of a refusal to pay customs fees, you will forfeit the entire order and will not be eligible to receive a refund on your order or shipping fees.

Payment

International orders may be subject to import duties and/or additional taxes or fees. You will be responsible for paying any such additional duties and/or taxes. See country specific information below.

Please note that we have no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount. We recommend that you contact your local customs or tax office for more information before placing your order.

USA: The U.S. government may impose duties on any order valued at approximately $800 USD or more. However, we encourage you to check with U.S. Customs and Border Protection as information is subject to change.

Canada: All orders valued at $20 CAD (approximately $15 USD) may be subject to duties and handling fees if the package is inspected at customs. Canada Post randomly inspects packages. For more information, visit the CBSA website here.

Europe: Orders over €150 may be subject to customs duties and handling charges upon inspection at customs, as this is the threshold at which import duties generally apply across the EU; this means that packages under this value are generally exempt from customs duties.

Australia: Goods valued over AUD1000. There is a processing fee for completing an import declaration. You will also be responsible for paying duties and taxes on your goods.
