How to Make a Peacock Tail Feature

Step 2: Add the First Round (Light Blue Yarn)

1. Rnd 1: Start with a Ch 2: This counts as the first half double crochet (HDC). Insert your hook into the hole under the stitch marker (the one from the cobalt blue popcorn stitch), and make another HDC in the same hole.
2. 7 HDC over Popcorn Chain: Crochet 7 HDC evenly across the chain 4 section of the popcorn stitch.

Step 3: Shape the Feather (Light Blue Yarn)

1. Rnd 2: Start with a Ch 2: This counts as an HDC. Work 1 HDC in the same stitch.
2. 7 HDC Along the First Side: Crochet 7 HDC along the first side of the round.
3. Peacock Tail Tip: Now, for the center decorative point:
   • DC Increase: Make 1 DC, then crochet 1 Ch, and a picot stitch (Ch 3, then sl st into the first chain of the 3-chain loop).
   • Ch 1, and make another DC Increase (2 DC in the same stitch).
4. DC in Next Stitch: Continue by making 1 DC in the next stitch.
